Called to Serve Ministries

song. Joe Haigler from North Carolina with his guitar set the pace preparing all who came for worship as the service began. Fire of Judah, Meadowood Church of God's worship leaders, led by Brian Davis, singing three pieces periodically throughout the evening took us to God's throne. Elizabeth Sydnor and Dr. Randy Clipp sang the duet "Called to Serve," written by Stan Pethal. They sang the theology of Called to Serve. Zach Perkins, a country/western recording artist, led us in moments of worship with two Christian pieces. "How Great Thou Art," sung by Randy Clipp in Africa last February, climaxed our service as Randy once again sang with a voice no man can adequately describe.

God literally took control of what was said in all the testimonies. Tiana Proudfoot, Eva Angell, Will Monroe, Vicki Cooke, Chuck Pauley, Elton and Barbara, and Keith Ferguson were used by God to glorify The Christ. Each person shared how God had blessed them through Called to Serve.

I thank Jan Ferguson for reading the Scripture and Sue Harris for her prayer.

The Oak Grove Baptist Church Drama Team did the non-verbal skit they have done often in Tanzania. It is called "The Redeemer," and it portrays the entire Gospel message without using any words. Dr. Randy Clipp, senior pastor of Monument Heights Baptist Church let us use a video with his African slides put to "O Sifuni Mungu."

It was a worship service and Jesus was honored for granting us all direction, grace and power to do His work. All eyes were turned on Jesus.

A fellowship reception followed. May God bless each person who fed us so well. At the reception, there were people who have known Called to Serve for ten minutes and there were people who have known Called to Serve before it was created.  The fellowship between them and the former members of teams who have served in Tanzania was sweet.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us, and to those of you who couldn’t come, but still celebrate with us in your own heart.

God has been faithful, and we know that He will continue to work in and through Called to Serve.

We look forward to what the next five years will bring!

Celebrating 5 Years of Faithfulness

Spiritually awesome! I have put into two words what I felt aboutthe Five-Year Celebration for Called to Serve held at Monument Heights Baptist Church on Saturday night, November 12, 2011.

Sometimes the presence of the Holy Spirit may go unnoticed. Everyone in attendance at the five year celebration knows that the Holy Spirit was at the Called to Serve meeting.

The Bible says that God inhabits the praise of His people. The music and the musicians blessed. It truly was worship in
